EDP has completed Sandrini’s four-hour battery storage project in California. The 92MW/368MWh installation sits alongside a 300MW solar site and is contracted to Redwood Coast Energy Authority for its full battery capacity.

EDF has secured two long-term agreements for the Winston project. The Nevada scheme combines 400MWac of solar generation with a 400MW/1,600MWh four-hour battery and expects to begin electricity deliveries in October 2029.

Cummins will supply battery storage for a major data centre. The project will use BESS to manage AI-driven load fluctuations, reduce oscillations, and improve ride-through performance at the utility interconnection.

Harmony Energy has energised its Skeeby battery storage project successfully. The 35MW/70MWh North Yorkshire system uses Tesla Megapacks and has moved into live commissioning ahead of full commercial operation.

Enlight has acquired a 125MW Finnish battery storage development project. Kukonkylä is ready to build in Sievi and is expected to connect to Finland’s transmission grid during the first half of 2028.

CGES has signed Velestovo’s grid connection agreement with Nu Energy. The €50 million Montenegro project will combine solar generation with battery storage, while plant and BESS ratings remain undisclosed.

PLUS Grid Storage has started construction on Steel River East. The 200MW/400MWh battery will connect beside Ausgrid’s Mayfield West zone substation and is expected to enter operation in late 2027.

Arenko will optimise Ørsted’s 600MWh Iceni battery from 2027 onwards. The storage asset will share transmission infrastructure with the 2.9GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm, creating a demanding combined trading, controls, and grid-management environment.

Perlen is adding utility-scale storage to its industrial energy infrastructure. The 10MW/20MWh battery will enter ancillary-services markets first, with day-ahead and intraday trading planned after commissioning by the end of 2026.

SUAS has commissioned Czechia’s largest operational battery storage facility today. The 57MW/120MWh Lipnice system combines balancing services, day-ahead and intraday trading, and algorithmic control within the group’s developing regional EnergyHub.
