IN Brief:
- Gaia Energy has appointed Daniel Fisher as Solar Manager as it expands commercial solar and battery storage delivery across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites.
- Fisher brings more than 25 years of solar and project management experience and will oversee PV schemes from design through to completion.
- The hire supports wider growth in on-site generation as businesses seek lower electricity costs, greater energy resilience, and progress on decarbonisation targets.
Gaia Energy has appointed Daniel Fisher as Solar Manager as the Merseyside retrofit and renewable energy company expands its commercial solar division. Fisher joins from Conscious Energy and will lead delivery of solar PV projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector buildings, overseeing work from design through to completion.
The appointment comes as more organisations turn to rooftop solar and on-site storage to reduce electricity costs, manage peak demand, and cut exposure to grid price volatility. In that context, Gaia is positioning its commercial division around integrated schemes for warehouses, manufacturing plants, schools, hospitals, and retail parks rather than standalone panel installations.
Liam Gray, Managing Director at Gaia Energy, said: “With a payback of between three and five years, commercial solar is becoming an increasingly attractive option for many organisations. Daniel’s experience in managing the installation of solar technologies strengthens our ability to deliver solar PV and battery storage solutions across a range of settings, from warehouses and manufacturing plants to schools, hospitals and retail parks. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
The role also adds project leadership capacity at a time when Gaia is active across both commercial generation and wider retrofit work. Since launching in 2020, the company has recorded year-on-year growth and says it is on track to exceed £5 million in turnover this year, while continuing to deliver energy efficiency programmes under SHDF Wave 3, ECO4, GBIS, and Local Authority Warm Homes initiatives.
Fisher said: “Gaia Energy has built a strong reputation in retrofit delivery and I’m looking forward to helping expand the commercial solar division as demand for on-site renewable energy continues to grow.” More information on the company’s commercial solar and storage work is available here.
